Electroplating is the process of plating a thin layer of other metals or alloys on the surface of some metals by means of electrolysis. Is the use of electrolysis to make the surface of metal or other materials parts attached to a layer of metal film process so as to prevent metal oxidation (such as corrosion),Improve wear resistance, electrical conductivity, reflective, corrosion resistance (copper sulfate, etc.) and improve the aesthetic effect. Electroplating is a common post-treatment process in the process of prototype making. What effect does electroplating have?

Electroplating includes galvanic plating and vacuum plating,In the process of prototype making, the specific electroplating method should be based on the characteristics of the prototype. The prototype (such as the ring) is small in size and cannot be fixed with a clamp. It needs to be hung up and placed in the water bath for a slight shaking, which can be completed in a short time (such as silver plating, only 30 seconds). This method is called galvanic plating. The size of prototype is large, which can be fixed on the fixture, sprayed with conductive paint, and then pumped vacuum. This method is called vacuum plating.

Although both plastic and metal  prototype can use electroplating skills, due to their different characteristics, there are still differences in electroplating process. The adsorption force of the plastic prototype is strong and it can be electroplated directly on the surface of the prototype. The metal prototype needs to be sprayed with a layer of primer before electroplating, so that the effect of electroplating and anti-corrosion performance will be better.
